Bio
Matthew L. Hendricksen is the Managing Partner of Plunkett Cooney's Chicago location. He maintains a wide ranging practice that includes expertise in banking law, business litigation, creditors’ rights and real estate law.
Mr. Hendricksen represents financial institutions in the areas of loan origination, loan workout, responding to garnishments, loan restructuring, foreclosures, receiverships and other banking-related litigation, including defense of financial institutions.
Prior to attending law school, Mr. Hendricksen worked in the investment division of a large national bank. Admitted to practice law in state and federal courts in Illinois, Mr. Hendricksen is a member of the Illinois State and Chicago bar associations.

- Represents lenders in collection and workout matters, and has done so for numerous loans in excess of $1 million
- Served as counsel to secured lenders in several troubled construction and development projects
- Represents businesses in breach of fiduciary cases
- Advise businesses on corporate governance matters and shareholder disputes
- Represents businesses in lease negotiations and disputes
- Represents creditors in bankruptcy proceedings, including petitions to deny debtors discharge of debts
- Represents creditors in fraudulent transfer lawsuits to recover assets borrowers have attempted to hide and shelter from creditors
- Represents lenders in replevin actions of commercial trucks
- Represents lenders in priority disputes with mechanic’s lien claimants
- Represents landlords in evictions of commercial tenants
- Represents creditors in post judgment collection proceedings to obtain turnover of borrowers’ assets
- Represents lenders in the modification and forbearance of troubled loans
- Represents lenders and creditors in appeals before the Illinois Appellate Court
