The Workers’ Compensation Law Practice Group has established a regional reputation as distinctive and aggressive litigators on behalf of a variety of clients, including self-insured groups, municipalities, medical facilities, construction companies, transportation companies and credit unions, to name a few. Their practice focuses exclusively on workers’ compensation litigation, including appeals, consultations and educational seminars.

Plunkett Cooney has an extensive record of successfully litigating significant cases with complex legal issues. Many of these cases have resulted in “new case” law that provides advantages to our clients. In addition to litigation services, Plunkett Cooney has a talented appellate division with extensive post-trial experience before the Workers’ Compensation Appellate Commission, the Michigan Court of Appeals and the Michigan Supreme Court.
Our attorneys are active and hold leadership positions in a number of noteworthy professional organizations, including the American Bar Association’s Workers’ Compensation Law Committee, the International Association of Industrial Accident Boards and Commissions, the Michigan Self-Insurers’ Association, the National Counsel of Self-Insurers and ALFA International.
