Wierenga joins firm’s Transportation Law, Litigation practice groups

Plunkett Cooney, one of the Midwest’s oldest and most accomplished law firms, recently expanded its Transportation Law and Torts & Litigation practice groups with the addition of attorney Katelyn L. Wierenga.

A member of the firm’s Grand Rapids office, Wierenga focuses her litigation practice on the defense of large, self-insured corporations and insurance companies, including policyholders, in complex personal injury, Michigan No-Fault law, premises liability and workers' compensation claims.

Wierenga has more than a decade of experience litigating claims involving premises liability, dram shop, retail liability, foodservice and hospitality and toxic torts. She also handles third-party subrogation matters and defends clients in first-party personal injury and complex litigation cases.

A member of the State Bar of California and Michigan, Wierenga is a 2013 graduate of Western Michigan Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Grand Rapids. She received her undergraduate degree from Aquinas College in 2010.

Plunkett Cooney’s Transportation Law Practice Group includes attorneys in the firm’s four-state footprint who provide an array of litigation and risk management services, including expertise in the areas of first- and third-party auto liability, cross-border claims with Canada, trucking liability, fraud investigations and emergency accident response.
