Bio

Scott K. Lites has nearly 40 years of experience representing clients in their acquisition, financing, investment, development and disposition activities. A member of the firm's Business Transactions & Planning Practice Group, he has extensive experience in all aspects of real estate law, and he represents a growing number of clients involved in the cannabis industry. 

Mr. Lites serves as a chair of Plunkett Cooney's Board of Directors, as chairman of the firm's Finance Committee, and is a member of the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law Alumni Association Board of Directors.

  • Special counsel for Michigan-based publicly owned company in obtaining $100,000,000 syndicated loan
  • Special counsel for international global provider of IT solutions and services in its $100,000,000 acquisition of stock in a national IT and web products and services provider for hospitals and health care systems
  • Special counsel for international global provider of IT solutions and services in obtaining $85,000,000 line of credit
  • Special counsel for Michigan-based public employee pension system on various matters, including:
    • Issuance of $25,000,000 letter of credit, including negotiation of fee structure, reimbursement agreement and other credit documents
    • Prosecution of breach of fiduciary claims against promoter
    • Conducting due diligence on possible alternative investments under Public Act 314
    • Review of various existing real estate investment and their disposition
  • Special counsel for Michigan-based national demolition contractor on various matters, including:
    • Acquisition, demolition, redevelopment and disposition of three former General Motors plants
    • Acquisition, demolition, redevelopment and disposition of real estate formerly used as paper mill
  • Special counsel for Michigan-based publishing company in acquiring multi platform products from various national entities
  • Special counsel for privately owned auto supplier in obtaining $19,000,000 line of credit
