PDFStout joins firm’s Real Estate Litigation & Title Insurance Practice Group
Senior attorney Gregory A. Stout recently joined Plunkett Cooney, one of the Midwest’s oldest and most accomplished law firms, as a member of its Real Estate Litigation & Title Insurance Practice Group.
Stout, who is a member of the firm’s Columbus office, concentrates his practice primarily in the areas of general litigation, title insurance litigation and banking and finance law.
Licensed to practice in the state and federal courts in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky and West Virginia, Stout's clients include insured property owners and lenders under title insurance policies and title insurance companies involved in escrow defalcations and coverage matters, as well as those requiring issuance of closing protection letters. Stout also represents corporate clients in commercial loan workouts, easement and pipeline litigation, receiverships, defense of consumer litigation and mortgage repurchase agreements disputes, and he represents clients in contract and residential real estate disputes.
Stout’s extensive banking and finance law experience includes the representation of lending institutions and mortgage servicers across five states in creditor-based bankruptcies and foreclosure litigation. He also represents debtors and bankruptcy trustees in consumer bankruptcy matters and creditors in both consumer and complex commercial matters.
Stout received his law degree from Salmon Chase College of Law in 2001 and his undergraduate degree from Baptist Bible College in 1994.
The members of Plunkett Cooney's Real Estate Litigation and Title Insurance Law Practice Group regularly represent lenders, national mortgage loan servicers, property owners and others in banking, bankruptcy and construction related litigation, as well as parties involved in escrow disputes and other closing-related matters. Practice group members also handle title insurance coverage disputes and claims involving a range of matters from real estate fraud and boundary lines to adverse possession and bankruptcy proceedings.
