Crain’s names Forbush to its 2025 list of Notable Litigator & Trial Attorneys

Plunkett Cooney partner Audrey J. Forbush was recently selected by Crain’s Detroit Business as one of the news publication’s 2025 Notable Litigators & Trial Attorneys.

Crain’s Notable Litigators were nominated by their peers and selected by a team of Crain’s Detroit Business editors based on an honoree’s leadership position at their firm and demonstrated involvement in significant litigation and trial proceedings. Forbush was selected for her successful trial practice, numerous roles in firm leadership and involvement with multiple bar and governmental law associations.

One of the firm’s most accomplished trial attorneys, Forbush focuses her litigation practice primarily in the area of municipal liability with particular expertise in police liability cases, including searches and seizures, alleged use of excessive force and pursuits, as well as correctional law matters. She also has extensive experience in the defense of litigation involving medical and employer liability.

Forbush serves in several leadership roles at Plunkett Cooney, including as senior vice president of the firm’s Board of Directors, managing partner of its Flint, Michigan office and co-leader of the Governmental Law Practice Group. She recently concluded a one-year term as the firm’s Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) and remains an active member of the DEI committee.

As a testament to her trial practice, Forbush is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, which is an invitation-only national association of over 7,000 highly experienced trial lawyers and judges, and she is a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, an invitation-only trial lawyer honorary society limited to 3,500 members. Forbush is a member of the Genesee County Bar Association, and she is a former chair of the Governmental Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan. Additionally, she serves as legal adviser to the Michigan Municipal League’s Law Enforcement Action Forum, an organization consisting of select law enforcement executives throughout Michigan.
