Plunkett Cooney’s nurse consultant Michelle N. Felder was recently named to the Class of 2024 Unsung Heroes by Michigan Lawyers Weekly (MiLW), an industry publication serving the state’s legal community.

Felder, along with 27 other law firm employees, was selected for consistently going above and beyond the call of duty, often behind the scenes. This honor is reserved for the state’s most talented and dedicated support professionals, including legal assistants, paralegals, professionals, legal marketers, information systems professionals, financial staff members and office managers.

Profiles of the 2024 Unsung Heroes will appear in a special digital supplement of MiLW posted online on Dec. 30. In addition, they will be featured in the publication’s subscriber-based Daily Alert email.

Felder, who joined the firm in 2012, provides her insight and expertise as a registered nurse in all areas of medicine associated with complex, often multi-million-dollar medical litigation claims that the firm defends as panel counsel to some of the world’s leading professional liability insurance providers.

Felder earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing in 1995 from the University of Michigan. She went on to earn her certification as a legal nurse consultant in 2014.

The members of Plunkett Cooney's Medical Litigation Practice Group include attorneys, paralegals, litigation support personnel and administrative staff, all of whom provide a comprehensive approach to defending claims. Attorneys in this practice group have handled every type of claim that can be brought against a health care professional or provider. Their experience includes the defense of complex and high exposure claims brought in the circuit and federal district courts, as well as representation of health care professionals undergoing investigations by medical boards and the offices of state attorneys general.
