Bio

Aleasha Taweel is an associate in the firm's Bloomfield Hills office who is a member of the Torts & Litigation Practice Group. Ms. Taweel focuses her practice in the area of general defense litigation, including product, premises and motor vehicle liability.

In addition, Ms. Taweel has experience handling commercial litigation and first-party and third-party motor vehicle negligence cases with an emphasis on fraud investigation. The transportation law work includes experience with special investigative units in matters involving fraudulent procurement and claims, policy rescission and coverage disputes. She also has experience representing clients in the areas of trusts and estate planning, including the preparation of special needs trusts.

Ms. Taweel is a member of the Probate Estate and Trusts and New Lawyers committees of the Oakland County Bar Association and the Business Law, Consumer Law and Probate & Estate Planning sections of the State Bar of Michigan.

Representative Client Work

  • Successfully drafted and argued declaratory actions resulting in rescission of subject policies, including drafting one action that resulted in five policies with multiple vehicles on each being rescinded

  • Drafted and argued successful motions for summary disposition for clients on numerous issues, including premises liability, negligence and no-fault claims

  • Successfully drafted and argued motions for summary disposition regarding fraud in the procurement and fraud in the claims process with liability exposure in excess of $1 million

  • Successfully argued and obtained summary disposition on behalf of no-fault carriers regarding priority and coverage disputes

  • Implemented several estate planning documents to include wills, trusts and special needs trusts
