The Affordable Care Act (ACA) is a complex statute that continues to perplex and confound employers as it evolves.
During the webinar, titled: "Understanding the Affordable Care Act - Critical New Issues for Today's Employer," former labor & employment law attorney Gary W. Francis provided an update on the current status of the Affordable Care Act and its continued impact on employers. Specifically, topics that were addressed included:
- A refresher on the law and its basic concerns for employers
- An outline of the laws’ 2014 regulations and finalized guidance on how to implement the law
- A summary of the recordkeeping and reporting obligations for employers
- A discussion of what is on the horizon, as well as upcoming issues for employers when the ACA timeline moves to completion

Gary W. Francis is a former attorney in Plunkett Cooney’s Labor and Employment Law Practice Group who focused his practice primarily on traditional labor law, employment law and employee benefits (ERISA). Mr. Francis represented employers in labor and employment matters in state and federal courts, as well as in proceedings involving state and federal administrative agencies.
