Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, businesses have applied for and received billions of refunds related to Employee Retention Credits (ERC). As the ERC program enters its fifth year, there is plenty of uncharted territory for businesses.
How will the IRS and Congress address the large number of claims that have already been filed? When will the government wind down the program? What will the IRS do to address unscrupulous third-party promoters in the ERC space? And most concerning, could your business be audited?
The answer to these questions will depend, in large part, on how the IRS approaches the next 12 months. Tax law attorney Joe Peterson reviewed the finer points of the ERC program, discussed where it stands today, and addressed what business leaders can expect from the IRS in 2024.
Who Should Attend
Business owners and corporate executives with oversight responsibility for ERC applications, tax attorneys and accounting professionals.
