Seminar Overview
The members of Plunkett Cooney’s Labor & Employment Law Practice Group hosted employers, HR professionals and claims professionals with EPLI coverage providers during this complimentary half-day seminar that analyzed employment litigation, discuss HR best practices and covered the issues that are most commonly faced in business.
This seminar incorporated two rapid-fire question and answer sessions on various employment law topics, featuring Plunkett Cooney employment law attorneys who discussed each topic in detail. Topics included HR best practices, Title VII, Title IX, ADEA, disability discrimination and leave issues under the ADA, FMLA, and state workers’ compensation laws; FLSA pitfalls; NLRB action and guidance. The program also included a session that will cover updates on recent case law and a session that will analyze key aspects of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Specifically topics included, among others:
- The DOL’s Final Rule updating the overtime regulations
- The EEOC’s strategic enforcement plan
- Addressing complicated accommodation issues under the ADA
- The relationship between the FMLA and ADA
- Best practices for workplace investigations of harassment and discrimination complaints
- Compliance with the FLSA and avoiding costly collective action lawsuits
